Therapy and Wellbeing in May

Updated: Sep 13, 2023

Summer is in the air; in our therapy areas in the Canopy and Nest we have been enjoying the extra warmth, the sounds of playing and relaxing outside and the view of flowers thriving in the garden.

Art Therapy We were excited to offer an art therapy taster session at Bluebell, a Bristol charity supporting parents’ mental health during pregnancy and up to two years after. We loved doing this and would love to do it again!

We were happy to have a little reunion for our love:art therapy group for parents/carers and their infants; the babies have all grown and it was lovely to catch up with how the parents were doing.

Art Together art therapy group for people living with dementia is at full capacity! We are so honoured to get to know so many people living in our community with dementia and make art together with them and their family members/carers.

We also offer individual art therapy – a couple of places have recently become free, so get in touch if this could be interesting for you, a family member, or someone you work with.

Art & Wellbeing

We had a full house of thirty people come to mark the Coronation with us in a special one-off artmaking celebration.

A staff group from Natural England came to experience the garden and make some beautiful nature pictures while they were here. Feedback was excellent and everyone enjoyed an hour to be mindful and creative.

A local school continues to bring pupils for 6-week blocks of lovely art & wellbeing for primary children. The children never fail to throw themselves into the creative process whole-heartedly!

Our Art in the Garden art & wellbeing group for adults is going strong every Tuesday morning – this group is open to all.

Other News

We were excited to host other Bristol-based art therapists for a morning of reflective artmaking in such a beautiful setting.

We have sadly had to say goodbye to our final-year art therapy student Jane who has graduated. We loved having her here! Wishing her a huge congratulations on her graduation and all the best for the future.
