We are thrilled to share that we have been selected to exhibit at the prestigious RHS Badminton Flower Show in Gloucestershire! RCG's project, a Wellbeing Rain Garden, will showcase how something magical can be created from reclaimed and upcycled materials.

Using a repurposed bike wheel as a bird scarer, a former water tank as a pond and deconstructed pallets as planters, our garden will demonstrate rainwater harvesting, climate-resilient planting and the power of connecting people with nature. We will also have a beautiful, handmade bamboo shi shi odoshi (a traditional Japanese water feature) kindly being made for us free of charge by a wonderful community member.

The build itself is as important as the finished result, as it is being created by our amazing Disabled Woodworking Group, young people not in education or employment (NEETs), local school children, Knitting and Crochet group members and our wonderful volunteers, all working side-by-side. We are also hugely grateful to Caroline Butler of Hawkmoth Designs, who has generously given her time and expertise free of charge to help with the design and build.

"We are delighted to represent RCG and Knowle at RHS Badminton. Our project highlights the huge mental and physical health benefits of connecting people with nature, and demonstrates what can be achieved using mainly upcycled materials."

Kate Swain, CEO
