  • What days and times is the Garden and the Canopy available to hire?
    It is available Monday to Sunday, from 9am to 10pm. Once you return your complete booking enquiry we will review it and let you know if we can take your booking.
  • Can I have a bouncy castle?
    Unfortunately not, as inflatables are not in the terms of our licence with Bristol City Council.
  • Can I bring my own food?
    Yes, you can bring your own food. We can also provide catering. You can bring children’s cold drinks, but we ask that you do not bring hot drinks.
  • Can I bring alcohol?
    For private hire events, we can provide a bar or you can BYO. There is a £2 per person corkage charge for BYO
  • Can I bring my own games?
    The answer is usually yes, but you will need to inform us, so we can check with our licence. We ask that you do not bring games or crafts that will leave glitter, beads, stickers etc on the ground when you leave.
  • Can I use an outside entertainment company?
    The answer is usually yes, but you will need to inform us, so we can check with our licence and insurance. The company will also need to carry the appropriate insurance and be DBS checked where necessary.
  • Do I have exclusive use of the site?
    The answer is usually no as our licence states the site must be open to the public. You will have exclusive use of the Canopy and a notice will be put up to show there is a private party in progress. We will of course consider exclusive use for large parties (e.g. weddings), corporate events or sensitive events. Please contact us to discuss.
  • What additional things can you provide?
    We can provide catering, a bar, party bags, party crafts and entertainment all on a sustainable basis. Please contact us for a full list.
  • How much will it cost me to hire the Canopy?
    Our standard private hire is £30 per hour. Community organisations - £28 per hour. Bespoke events - please contact us to discuss. Prices include VAT.
  • Are you open every day?
    The Garden, Roots Café and shop are open from 9:30am to 4pm (Winter) and until 4:30pm (Summer), Monday-Sunday, subject to weather conditions. Please see our Facebook page for any weather updates!
  • How about disabled access?
    The Garden is level throughout. There is a ramp to provide access to our event space, The Canopy.
  • Do you have toilets?
    There are public toilets in Redcatch Park, adjacent to the Garden. Dedicated toilet facilities are available for customers of Roots and private events via The Pavilion.
  • Do have parking?
    There is a public car park adjacent to the Garden. Access is via Broadwalk - see map.
  • Are dogs allowed?
    We welcome well-behaved dogs and their owners! Please keep your dog on a lead at all times.
