We’re trying to raise £200,000 to build Rooted: a permanent, weatherproof and truly accessible café at Redcatch Community Garden, and we’d love your help 💚

We're thrilled to announce that we've secured both planning permission and lease approval to build a brand new, fully accessible indoor café, replacing our much-loved (but very tired!) Roots Café trailer. More than a café, Rooted will be:

​

• A vital and sustainable source of income to fund our charitable activities (most of the work we do is funded by our current café)

• A warm, welcoming space for all ages & abilities

• A better place for training, volunteering and work experience for the people who rely on us to build skills and confidence

• A sustainable step towards a greener, fairer food system

​

On top of this, we'll be able to extend our opening hours, expand our menu, offer more shop products and provide a more comfortable working environment for our dedicated staff and volunteers. Most importantly, this project ensures a sustainable future for RCG, allowing us to continue providing essential services for our community.

This is a huge step for us, especially as it's been a year in the making! Now, we face the significant challenge of raising £200,000 to bring Rooted to life. Our wonderful carpenter, Babs, has made housing for our new 'Tap to Donate' Station as well as a coin drop game, both of which can be found outside Bluebell, our community shop.
