Spring got off to a great start! We were excited to start setting the course for new partnerships with a local school and mental health & recovery service.
We’ve continued our art and wellbeing offerings, including our longstanding and ongoing work with a local school: children come to us each week and our weekly Art in the Garden sessions are open to all in our community.
Our art therapy group for dementia is not only reaching more and more people living with dementia, but it is also approaching its first birthday! On top of this, we were able to transform our Invest in Knowle West funding into an art therapy group for neurodivergent young people. It is wonderful to be a part of and great to see that everyone has settled in well. We continue to offer individual art therapy sessions, both funded and privately paid.
We were also delighted to welcome 25+ children and their families to our special strike-day arts and crafts session. This will now go under the name of Happymess+ and there will be more to come!
On snow day, the art therapy team brought their materials and nurturing artmaking to the children of a local school who couldn't make it to us.
Our new Nest therapy rooms funded by Quartet are up and running. Our one-to-one room is in full use and were making our small-group room ready thanks to some excellent work by our fantastic volunteers!
Our team is expanding! We were pleased to welcome our new Art Psychotherapy student who is helping deliver some of our art & wellbeing groups. We were also excited to recruit a new SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) Lead for the Garden who comes with a wealth of ideas and experience for working with those with SEND of all ages. This will be invaluable for continued best practice and expanded reach in our therapy and wellbeing work. Our third-year Art Psychotherapy student is approaching graduation but is still offering individual therapy and supporting our art therapy groups.
Get in touch with us on 07769 013243 or via email at kaya@redcatchcg.com if you are interested in individual art therapy sessions or setting up a bespoke art therapy group or art & wellbeing session with us.
A big thank you to everyone in our community (buying coffee and cake) who support us 💚
