BS4 Arts Trail at RCG

Updated: Sep 13, 2023

Over the weekend 24 & 25 June come along and see if you can find all of beautiful art that we have here at Redcatch Community Garden.

If you would like to take part, pick up a trail sheet from Roots cafe. The sheet has close up photos of the art around the Garden, these are the 'clues' to finding the actual works of art!

SPOILER ALERT: BELOW ARE THE 'SOLUTIONS' TO THE CLUES ON THE TRAIL SHEET.

To find out more about the overall BS4 Arts Trail please see here: https://bs4artstrail.co.uk/

1) Art in the Garden banner/screen

This was made by members of Art in the Garden, our adult art & wellbeing group. It is designed as a screen to go on the tennis court fence to make that area of the Garden a bit more private.

2) Play area shelter

This amazing structure has a practical function but we consider it to be a work of art. Designed by Babs and made by her and our fantastic team of volunteers.

3) Friendship bench

Another work of art with a practical function, this one you can sit on! Again designed by Babs and made by her and our fantastic team of volunteers.

4) Art Together flowers

These are in the Canopy and are made of petals designed by different members of our Art Together group - this is an art therapy group for people living with dementia and their carers.

5) Community bunting

This is in the Canopy and was made by participants in several of the wellbeing groups we run here. In the Canopy there is also some paper bunting made at a special Coronation art event we held here, funded by St Monica Trust.

6) Gate to compost corner gate

Another work of art designed by Babs and made by her and our fantastic team of volunteers.

7) Gage Graphics mural

This was designed and painted by Ollie from Gage Graphics. Look out of more of his art in the Park. He also painted several of our tables in the Canopy.

8) Totum pole

We aren't sure who made this, we think it was in the Park before the Garden was created. Let us know if you know more!

9) Community Hub/shop

Metal flowers designed by Babs and made by her and our fantastic team of volunteers., painting on the door by our volunteer Lin.

10) Gardening for Wellbeing group collaborative canvas

Made by our fabulous Gardening for Wellbeing group who meet on Thursday mornings.

11) Art in the Garden group collaborative canvas

This is a work in progress, made by our Art in the Garden (art & wellbeing) group who meet on Tuesday mornings.

12) The Art of Kindness flags

Messages written by our Art in the Garden (art & wellbeing) group, flags produced by The Art of Kindness.
